BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT...

What to do prior to your treatment:
​Botox​​

​​

  • ​Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 1 week before your treatment.

  • ​Medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil, Ginkgo Biloba, and prescription blood thinners will cause increased risk of bruising in the treated area(s). Consult your primary care provider about stopping these medications at least 5 days prior to your treatment to decrease this risk.

  • ​You will need to consult with your primary health provider prior to your procedure if you have conditions such as diabetes, poor blood circulation, or neurological/muscular disorders.

​Injectable Fillers​​

​​

  • ​Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 1 week before your treatment.

  • ​Medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil, Ginkgo Biloba, and prescription blood thinners will cause increased risk of bruising in the treated area(s). Consult your primary care provider about stopping these medications at least 5 days prior to your treatment to decrease this risk.

  • ​You will need to consult with your primary health provider prior to your procedure if you have conditions such as diabetes, poor blood circulation, or neurological/muscular disorders.

  • Let your injector know if you have a history of cold sores (they may prescribe you an oral antiviral medication to prevent exacerbation).

  • Inform your injector of any known allergies to numbing medications (topical or local).

Orchids
ZO 3-Step Peel​​​

​​

  • Prep skin with retinoid (tretinoin) 4 times a week for 6 weeks.​

  • For melasma, precondition with hydroquinone for 6-8 weeks.

  • Use the hydrating cleanser, daily power defense, and SPF daily.

  • Stop retinoid 4 days prior to the peel.

  • On the day of the peel, remove contacts and bring glasses if applicable.

AFTER YOUR TREATMENT...

What to do after your treatment:
​Botox​​

​​​

  • Apply ice or a cold compress to any treated areas immediately post injection & intermittently for the 1st day.

  • It is advised that you do NOT massage any of the treated areas for at least 1-2 weeks after injection.  Do not schedule any facials or perform any aggressive facial treatments for this 2 week period.

  • Try not to engage in excessive exercise or sweat profusely for 1-2 days after your treatment.

​Injectable Fillers

​​​

  • Apply ice or a cold compress to any treated areas immediately post injection & intermittently for 2-3 days after your treatment.  This will help to decrease any swelling and possible bruising associated with your procedure.

  • It is advised that you do NOT massage any of the treated areas for at least 1-2 weeks after injection.  Do not schedule any facials or perform any aggressive facial treatments for this 2 week period.

  • If bruising does occur, you may apply Arnica Cream or Vitamin K cream to the area to aid in the healing process.

  • Try not to engage in excessive exercise or sweat profusely for 1-2 days after your treatment.

  • You may apply makeup to the treated area(s) in as little as 2-3 hours (mineral makeup is preferred).

Applying Face Cream
ZO 3-Step Peel​​​

​​

  • It will take 2-3 hours for the retinol to penetrate (a yellow tint is normal).

  • You may use a Q-tip in case of itching. Lightly dab the affected areas.

  • Do not wash your face for 5 hours.

  • Do not wear makeup for 5 days.

  • Only use physical SPF (not chemical).

  • Avoid sun exposure for 1-2 weeks.

  • Do not exercise for 5 days. Walking is okay, but avoid any activities that will cause you to sweat.

  • Avoid steam coming in contact with your face (cooking, oven, steamy showers, sauna, etc.)

  • The day after your peel, cleanse, apply an entire blue packet and some hydrating cream. For 5 days, use a gentle cleanser, hydrating cream (5 times per day), and physical SPF.

  • The skin will get tight, pigmentation will become darker, and the skin will peel. You may have some breakouts.

  • There likely will not be any peeling for 2 days, then 2 days of peeling, and then healing for 2 days.

  • Do not pull at loose skin. You may dampen loose skin in the shower. Let it come off naturally without forcing it.

  • It is advised to do 1 peel a month for 3 months.
